IRON ORE AS AGGREGATE

Over the last ten years, Cotrading has developed an important position in the supply of iron ore as aggregate – mainly for the production of heavy concrete for coating sub-sea gas pipelines, or other applications.

In the last ten years we have supplied about 4 million tonnes to this market – a substantial percentage of total demand.  Our aim is to offer least cost solutions based on the quality, delivery and logistic requirements of our customers, and in order to do this we work with suppliers in Chile, Brazil, India and, principally, South Africa.

IRON ORE FROM STOCK

From 1 January 2002, in a new development, Cotrading is able to offer lump or fine ore from its own stockpile in Rotterdam, enabling us to supply quantities ranging from a few tonnes up to several thousands. This stockpile, which was previously operated by Iscor (now Kumba) is based on South African qualities but other grades, e.g. Brazilian, can also be offered.


Our objective is to use our portfolio of sources to offer the least cost solution for any requirement.
